Last session we got this one arranged up and tweaked things a bit. Then we added in some FX to keep the transitions interesting. Now it's on to the mix down. There's quite a lot going on with this one so it will be interesting to see how we can make it all fit together nicely.

It's mix down time. After a few rounds of trying some mix downs in Ableton I am going to try a return to Logic and see how it feels.

One of the essential back bones of any good mix is getting the kick and bass to sit well together. When the low end is lacking punch and clarity it often turns the track into a swampy mess. Here are a couple of techniques to help you put these two elements together in a harmonious fashion.
Round two on the mix down of The Gobbler. Hopefully we should be able to get it all finished off tonight!
After last week's writing session I have gone away and finished the writing and arranging. This week we will have a run over what I've done to the track and then start a live mix down.
