I recently came across a total game changer of a plugin called Audiomovers which you can find here: https://audiomovers.com/ With this plugin you can not only listen to another person's DAW remotely at full resolution but you can actually record from your DAW to theirs live without latency as well. Once you combine this with some screen sharing and remote control of the cursor via Zoom you can actually have pretty much a full live collaboration going on. Next level! This is obviously more appropriate than ever during lockdown so I thought I would make a tutorial showing you...
OK this one is nearly complete. Added another two sections and got it into arrangement view. I reckon I will do the last bits and bobs when I can this week and then we can move onto something different for the live stream next week. My brain has really been in computer build mode this last week as I built a new Hackintosh and although it's going to make workflow a million times better moving forward, I didn't have much brain power for anything else haha. Back stronger next week! Cheers, Liam
In this video I will go over the basics of Wavetable in Ableton and show you how to create a Boards Of Canada style bell synth. Through creating this patch you will get a good basic understanding of how the Wavetable works and just how crazy versatile it is! Hope you enjoy.
In today's session we are going to continue with the track that we started last week. Is the Potion Seller going to make it in? Are we going to use the Skype ringtone? I can't wait to find out myself. Again we will work on it for about 45 minutes and then we can have a chat about what I've done and I can answer any questions. Feel free to chime in with suggestions in the chat room throughout and I will use them if I think they will work. In a way this is going to be like...
Today I am going to go through the process of warping and slicing up a drum break so you can play all it's sections on a sampler. I will also show you how to create a custom slice preset so that your sample plays just how you want. Creating The Slice Preset 1. Insert a new Drum Rack 2. Insert a Simpler onto one of the empty pads 3. Open Macro controls for that Sampler by clicking on the first black circle with a little dial on it just below the yellow circle that turns that drum rack on and...
In today's session I am going to start a new track from scratch and work on it for 45 minutes or so. Then we can have a chat about what I've done and I can answer any questions. I am going to try and incorporate some sounds and samples that you lovely people suggested on Instagram. Feel free to chime in with suggestions in the chat room throughout and I will use them if I think they will work. In a way this is going to be like a big group collaboration :D Super duper fun times!
This is how I build the template that I start all my tracks with. I guarantee it will make your life a million percent easier and will help you stay in a flow state when you're writing your music. ------------------ - Start by inserting a ‘Drum Rack’ and calling it Kicks - Search through your samples and find a variety of different kick sounds. Drum racks can take .adg files as well so you could add in the 808 kick pre made sampler in Ableton for example. - Add those to your kicks drum rack by dragging the samples onto...
Sorry about the technicals with the stream earlier. This one at 5pm should be more stable I hope! Today I am going to be taking a look through the project file for my track Aunt Wendy's Wedding In Wales which came out on Holding Hands in 2018. You can click on the reminder button on the Youtube video to get an alert when the stream starts and you can ask questions in the comments box before the stream starts if you wish as well. Catch you on the stream!
The number one question I get asked by producers is without a doubt, "where do you get the bass lines?" Well in todays video I will take a look at bass lines from three of my tracks. This is a part 1 and I will continue to look at various bass lines in detail as I make more videos. The tracks that I looked at in this video were: Pompey Cruiser - Holding Hands Control Yourself - Rhythm Section The Bruce - Holding Hands
Today I am going to be taking a look through the project file for my track Mox Diamond which came out on On Loop last November. We will go through each individual part. How I wrote it and how everything fits together.
